November 19th, 2023: Congratulations to our CAST undergraduates for receiving awards at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Students (ABRCMS) held in Phoenix, Arizona! Mesha Shajahan won in the Math, Physics, and Engineering Section for her work on transcutaneous CO₂ sensing under the mentorship of Dr. Preety Ahuja. Tithi Prajapati won in the Chemistry Section for her work on optical nitrate sensing under the mentorship of Dr. Venkatesh Srinivasan. We are so proud of you!
October 23rd, 2023: During the summer of 2023, three interns, two high school students and a UMBC sophomore, guided by Dr. Venkatesh Srinivasan, Assistant Research Scientist at CAST prepared an interesting report about the challenges faced by Women in STEM and how they overcome imparity.
